Festival Rules

1. Basic provisions

1.1. The organizer of the international film festival «Leonid Khromov International Film Festival» is the production center «Leonid Khromov Production» (hereinafter referred to as the «Organizer»).

1.2. International Film Festival «Leonid Khromov International Film Festival» (hereinafter referred to as «Festival») is intended to select the best (according to the jury of the «Festival») full-length, medium-length and short feature, animation and documentary films and scripts by various directors, producers and screenwriters living in different countries of the world.

1.3. The fact of filling in the questionnaire in the Festival constitutes acceptance of the Contest participant for processing the organizer of the provided personal data of the participants (including, but not limited to: name, surname, patronymic, information on the series and passport number, authority that issued the passport, date of issue, date and place of birth, address of permanent residence, phone number, postal address) in all the ways specified in Article 3 para 3 of the Federal law (in Russian Federation) of July 27, 2006 № 152-FZ on Personal data, solely for the purposes of the Festival. Consent to the processing of personal data given by the participant for the duration of the Festival, and 3 years after its completion. Member has the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data by sending a written declaration to the postal address of the Organizer, in this case, the participant loses the right to receive prizes and deprived of winning the title.

1.4. The organizer has the right to amend these Rules. Updated information is posted on the website www.lkiff.com in the «News» section, which is an appropriate and sufficient way to notify participants about changes to the Rules.

1.5. The organizer provides the nominees of the Festival (only one person - the director or producer of the film or his representative) accommodation at the hotel during the festival. Nominees bear all other expenses on their own.

1.6. The organizer places on the website of the Festival no more than 50 nominees from all categories (official selection). The jury members select no more than 25 nominees for the final of the Festival, who are awarded at the Festival award ceremony. The list of finalists of the Festival is published on its website in the News section.

2. Movie requirements

2.1. Short, mid-length and full-length films that were filmed not earlier than January 1, 2019 are accepted for participation in the Festival. Duration of short feature films: no more than 25 minutes (including titles). Duration of medium-length films: from 25 to 59 minutes (including titles). Duration of feature films: over 60 minutes (including titles). The duration of documentaries is not regulated. The duration of animated films is not regulated.

2.2. The film must be recorded in Full HD (1920x1080).

2.3. All non-English films must be with English subtitles.

2.4. All films must be submitted through the FilmFreeway or Festhome online platform. In some cases, exceptions are allowed when the film director, for technical reasons, cannot send his film through the online platform.

2.5. Incomplete films will be considered on condition that they are completed before the start of the Festival.

2.6. Premiere requirements. To participate in the festival, the screening of a film does not have to be premiere.

2.7. A director can submit more than one film, but for this he must fill out a separate application for participation and pay a fee for each film.

3. Scripting requirements

3.1. Screenplays of short, medium and full-length films that were written no earlier than January 1, 2019 are accepted for participation in the Festival.

3.2. Scripts written in English or Russian are accepted for consideration. Number of pages: no more than 25 (A4 format) for short films, up to 59 for medium-length films and from 60 to 90 for full-length films.

3.3. All scripts must be submitted through the FilmFreeway or Festhome online platform. In some cases, exceptions are allowed when the scriptwriter, for technical reasons, cannot submit his script through the online platform.

3.4. Unfinished scripts will be considered on condition that they are completed before the start of the Festival.

3.5. A screenwriter can submit more than one film script, but for this he must fill out a separate application for participation and pay a fee for each film script.

4. Cost of participation

4.1. The cost of consideration by the jury members of the Festival of short films is $20 USD.

4.2. The cost of consideration by the jury members of the Festival of Medium Length Feature Films is $25 USD.

4.3. The cost of consideration by the jury members of the Festival of feature films is $30 USD.

4.4. The cost of consideration by the jury members of the Festival of documentary films is $35 USD.

4.5. The cost of consideration by the jury members of the Animated Film Festival is $20 USD.

4.6. The cost of consideration by the members of the jury of the Festival of scripts of short films is $35 USD.

4.7. The cost of consideration by the jury members of the Festival of scripts of medium-length films is $45 USD.

4.8. The cost of considering feature film scripts by the jury members is $55 USD.

5. Prizes and nominations

5.1. The main prize of the Festival: Grand Prize (diploma + gifts from sponsors of the Festival + possible cash prize). The prize is awarded to feature films.

5.2. Best short feature film of the Festival: Best Short Film (diploma + gifts from sponsors of the Festival).

5.3. Best Medium Feature Film of the Festival: Best Medium Film (diploma + gifts from sponsors of the Festival).

5.4. All other nominations receive diplomas: Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Science Fiction, Best Action, Best Documentary, Best Animated Feature, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director.

5.5. The organizer can establish additional nominations at its discretion.

5.6. The organizer can increase the number of prizes and their monetary value at their discretion.

6. Award ceremony

6.1. The LKIFF 2021 festival will be held in the format of an international award. The ceremony of awarding the winners of the Festival is planned for the second half of April 2021 in Moscow.

6.2. Due to the current economic and political uncertainty in the world (force majeure), the Organizer has the right to change the format of the final of the Festival by holding it online or change the city / country of the Festival. Updated information on the occurrence of force majeure circumstances is posted on the website of the Festival www.lkiff.com in the News section, which is an appropriate and sufficient way to notify participants about the occurrence of such circumstances.
